I recently gave an oil painting workshop on Color in Augusta Ga for some really fine folks.
We were working with the same paint, mediums, canvases, and photos and the students really liked the photos that I had chosen for the workshop. One of the things about working with photos is to know that the camera is missing things. Most people are not photographers so using filters for the camera is foreign to them and the so the photos come out real contrastly and either too dark or too light. So I did a little video on some free Google Photo software to show how I go about getting a photo ready for painting. Here you go.
