Overview
This two-day workshop is led by OPA, AIS, and NOAPS Signature artist James
Swanson. Throughout the workshop, participants will explore various color
concepts and strategies that James uses to create his award-winning paintings.
Workshop Focus
Over the course of two days, James will demonstrate different approaches to
achieving instant color harmony and will share techniques for making colors
appear brighter and cleaner, drawing on impressionist principles. The workshop
will include live demonstrations, critiques, and ample hands-on painting
opportunities.
Subjects and Activities
Participants will paint one of James’s celebrated water dogs, as well as several
other animal subjects. The workshop promises to be exciting and challenging,
while maintaining a lighthearted and encouraging atmosphere.
